For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology
Founded in 1989 by DEKA creator Dean Kamen, FIRST was created to help inspire America’s next generations of leaders in Science and Technology. From its first game in 1992, FIRST has grown from 28 teams to now having over 7000. FIRST has touched millions of lives in its 3 decades as an organization. With three different programs-FIRST LEGO League(FLL), FIRST Tech Challenge(FTC), and FIRST Robotics Competition(FRC) fosters love of science and technology in students ages 6 all the way up to 18. That age range doesn’t even include mentors. FIRST encourages all members to become more well-rounded individuals who make a lasting impact on their communities.
As Dean Kamen says, “FIRST is more than robots”.
