Dawgma aims to be a leader in our school district’s community through our interaction with FLL. Dawgma has proudly supported FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) teams in our community since 2022, helping to revive the program after it was paused at local elementary schools due to the pandemic. Dawgma members mentor teams at Merion and Cynwyd Elementary Schools, maintaining a close mentor-to-student ratio of 2 to 1 to ensure personalized guidance and support. In 2023, Dawgma expanded to assist 10 FLL teams across elementary and middle schools throughout the district. Dawgma has continued to support many of these teams through guiding students through the engineering design process, teamwork, problem solving, and the core values of FIRST. Beyond team mentoring, Dawgma members have volunteered at the district’s FLL Expo since 2007 as judges, referees and game announcers, to even DJ’s, sharing their passion for STEM and community engagement by running events and supporting competitors.
